Church re-lives Jesus Last Supper - 18th March '10

A church in Peasedown St John is hoping to re-live Jesus’ Last Supper.

St John’s Church in Peasedown St John will be opening its doors on the evening of Maundy Thursday for its Last Supper Meditation.

The event will feature readings, worship-in-song and a Bring & Share supper.

Church Leader Revd Matthew Street commented:

“We remember Maundy Thursday as the night Jesus shared his last supper with his disciples. After three years of spending time with these men, Jesus had built up a strong relationship with them.

Just like a family meal, we hope our Last Supper will bring people together for a memorable event.”

During the meal, partakers will break off at certain points to reflect on Easter and its significance to us and communion will be taken.

Anyone who’d like to come along can contact St John’s Church Warden Joy Fraser for more information:  01761 433644, andyjoyfraser@btinternet.com and she will tell you what kind of food to bring. Please bring along your own drinks.

On Sunday 4th April, Easter Day, St John’s Church will be holding a traditional communion service at 9am. In the afternoon, at 4.30pm, during Soul Food, there will be an Easter egg hunt.
