Ten Lamps Group
What is the 10 Lamps Group?
10 Lamps is a group of 10 villages...
Camerton, Dunkerton, Farrington Gurney, Foxcote and Shoscombe, High Littleton, Paulton, Peasedown St John, Priston, Timsbury and Wellow...
...whose Anglican and Methodist churches have agreed to work together to develop and maintain thriving Christian communities in all 10 villages.
How does the 10 Lamps Group work?
On the third Sunday of every month the group comes together to worship.
Every Tuesday the group clergy meet to pray and discuss matters concerning the whole group.
The group clergy ‘pulpit swap’ three times a year.
Members of all the churches are encouraged to see the group clergy as ‘theirs’.
Three times a year representatives from the groups churches meet to discuss matters concerning the whole group.
Wherever possible the group co-ordinates lent, alpha and emmaus courses, study groups, marriage and confirmation preparation.
How does the 10 Lamps group benefit us?
By working together and pooling resources individual churches in the group are able to:
- Share burdens with those around them
- Access all the group clergy
- Access group run courses
- Offer a greater variety of worship
- Get to know other Christians in our local area
